I'm a designer who codes. My primary skills are digital design and accessible & semantic HTML/CSS development, with some experience building WordPress themes and using the static site generator, Eleventy (11ty).

Lancaster University [2020 – Present]
Digital Skills Graduate Intern
I have written an online course on Digital Wellbeing, delivered in-person training sessions, written help articles, and worked in Jira Help Desk and Confluence. Working with other teams, I have also created 7 infographics that have been distributed across the university.
Pontefract Civic Society [2019 – Present]
I have been working as a remote volunteer on multiple projects designing documents for the Civic Society. I designed the Pontefract Blue Plaque Guide which has been printed for distribution and is available from the Pontefract Town Hall, on which I created a history guide. I have also collated multiple newsletters and am working on a newspaper.
Pontefract Castle [2018 – 2020]
I have overseen children’s crafts, assisted with dungeon tours, advised visitors on the castle’s history and assisted with summer events on the castle bailey and the gates. I often find myself learning new information regarding the castle’s history to explain to visitors, answer a variety of visitor questions, direct visitors to areas of the castle and relay updates regarding the castle. Pontefract Castle has recently completed conservation work after 3 years, so as part of my role as a volunteer I have had to keep up to date to keep visitors up to date.

I was responsible for working the ePos till, rotating stock, tidying the shop and assisting customers on sizing and uniform choices.
Blackerhall Farm Shop [2015-2015]
At Blackerhall Farm Shop, I was responsible for preparing food for free samples I then handed out, and engaging with customers and gathering feedback.
Work Experience – Web Design & Digital Marketing
In a team of two, I created an on-brand website mock-up in Adobe Photoshop, regarding a then-upcoming course. In addition, I also did research into marketing channels, advertising costs and demographics and presented this to the Statement team.

FdA Creative & Digital Industries [September 2017 – May 2019]
University Centre at Wakefield College, certified by the University of Hull
This programme is ran in the University Centre at Wakefield College and is validated by the University of Hull. I studied design principles, branding, front-end development, SEO, WordPress Themes, and I have run a simulated digital agency (working with real clients) through the course as Project Manager for two clients, as well as a designer and developer.
Level 3 Social Media for Business [September 2016 – June 2017]
On this course, I studied social media management, basic HTML and CSS, and using the WordPress front-end to make posts and change themes. I also created a child theme and worked on a live client website in WordPress, where I connected a premium theme with WooCommerce.
